But that is an inaccurate impression, because author Peter Temple uses those pages to patiently and exactingly establish the setting, the characters, and lay the /5. Shaken by a scrape with death, he's posted away from the Homicide Squad to the quiet town on the South Australian coast where he grew up.

If you are the publisher or author of this book and feel that. This book was suppose to be a sequel to The Broken Shore but I found it very disappointing. I was hoping to find some answers about Cashin but he only had a small cameo appearance in the book and the main character in Truth had a small bit part in The Broken Shore.

So it isn't my idea of a sequel/5. 'The Broken Shore is superb, full of great characters, and set in rural Australia, a place Temple obviously loves. But it's his dialogue that carries the book.
